COBRA payment remittance

At Kept, we make managing COBRA premiums as seamless as possible for you and your team. Below we explain how we process collections, remit funds, and provide the tools you need for accurate monthly reconciliation.

Collections and Remittances

Kept collects monthly COBRA premiums from your enrollees on your group’s behalf. Our remittance process is designed for clarity and predictability:

  • Payment Timing: We remit funds based on when they are received, not the coverage month the payment is applied to. For example, if an enrollee makes a payment in June, those funds will be included in June's remittance issued following month (July) - regardless of which month's invoice the payment is for.
  • Deposit Details: Remittances are issued around the 20th of each month to the bank account linked in your account Settings.
  • Settlement: Once the payment is sent, please allow 2–3 business days for the funds to settle in your account.

Reconciling Your Accounts

Once your funds have settled, your monthly Reconciliation Report will become available. This report provides a detailed breakdown of which employees have successfully paid for their coverage and identifies any unpaid premiums.

To view your report:

  1. Log in to your Kept Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Reports tab.
  3. Access your latest reconciliation report once it generates following the settlement period.

Pro Tip: To simplify your accounting process, we recommend adding your email to automatically receive the monthly report. You can enable this feature directly within the Reports tab of your dashboard to ensure your team always has the data they need!
